OPENING DRAW
The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team returns to action this week fully entrenched in Atlantic 10 play. The Bonnies will continue their busy stretch of competition as they will host Duquesne at the Marra Athletics Complex on Wednesday before traveling to face Rhode Island on Saturday.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies dropped a 15-6 decision to VCU this past Saturday at home in the squad's most recent appearance. The Rams found a surge of second quarter scoring which scrambled the hosts' game plan and forced them to chase goals. Despite a much-improved second-half performance in which they matched VCU with four scores, the Bonnies were unable to find enough momentum for a comeback.
Â
Bona's scoring came from senior captain
Brooke Piper (3G) as well as freshmen
Riley Milligan (2G) and
Gracie Williams (1G).
Â
Bona's eight graduating seniors were honored pregame: Piper,
Megan Schillinger,
Rylee Gonzalez,
Payton Klepacki,
Emma Hollenbeck,
Grace Hollenbeck,
Kate Hennessey and
Brit Colangelo.

This week will mark the fifth straight in which Bonaventure has played multiple games. The streak began the week of Feb. 18 when the team played Binghamton on Wednesday and faced Bucknell the following Saturday. The streak will end following this Saturday's matchup with Rhode Island, and the Bonnies will not see another week of multiple contests for the rest of the season.
