WASHINGTON, D.C. – St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse senior
Brooke Piper has been named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Â
The Aurora, Ontario native compiled a stellar week including two hat tricks in Bona wins over Robert Morris and Niagara, totaling eight points (6G-2A), eight groundballs, seven draw controls and four caused turnovers.
Â
The Bona's captain posted three goals and two assists to help power a home win over Robert Morris last Wednesday, 11-4, also securing six ground balls, controlling five draws and causing two turnovers to add to the Bonnies' dominance.
Â
Piper backed up her successful home performance with another big day on the road Saturday, scoring three times to help the Bonnies beat Niagara, 14-6, and marking her third straight game with a hat trick. She added pairs of ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers in the contest.
Â
The captain will get her next opportunity to keep momentum rolling when the Bonnies match up with Furman on the road on Wednesday, March 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the final tune-up before Atlantic 10 play begins.Â
