OPENING DRAW
The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team looks to build off two wins wins last week with a pair of road matchups this week against Furman and Davidson. The Bonnies will travel south on Wednesday to face off with Furman for the first time in program history at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Saturday battle against Davidson at 12:00 p.m. to open Atlantic 10 conference play.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies last appeared in a confident 14-6 road win over Little Three rival Niagara this past Saturday. The win snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Purple Eagles which spanned back to March of 2012.

Sidney Van Tassel (3G) and seniors
Brooke Piper (3G) and
Rylee Gonzalez (3G-1A) each recorded hat tricks to help put an end to the streak and leave the all-time series standing at 11-9 in favor of SBU.

Earlier in the week on Wednesday, the Brown and White put together a cohesive performance to take down Robert Morris at home, 11-4.

Judy Mahoney made six saves and locked down the posts for the full 60 minutes, giving her a third win in the cage this season. She was supported downfield by another hat trick from Piper (3G-2A) alongside pairs of scores from Van Tassel, senior
Grace Hollenbeck and freshman
Riley Milligan.

WEEKLY HONORS
Bona's captain
Brooke Piper was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Robert Morris and Niagara. The Aurora, Ontario native totaled eight points (6G-2A) on the week alongside eight ground balls, seven draw controls and four caused turnovers.

Piper has scored at least two goals and three points in every contest so far this season, and she is currently riding a streak of five straight games with a hat trick.

PROGRAM LEADERS
With her three scores against Niagara giving her a total of 171 career points, Piper passed Danielle Drabin '12, for the eighth-most career points in Bonnies history. She needs just five points to tie Nicole Montondo '06, for seventh place. With 143 career goals, Piper also needs just three goals to tie Laura Spalding, '04 for the second-highest total in program history.

Brit Colangelo sits in seventh place on the SBU career groundballs list with 146, needing four more to tie Kathryn Yoder, '19 for sixth place. She ranks third in caused turnovers with 107.

Megan Schillinger has tightened her grip on the Bonnies' all-time lead in draw controls with her career total currently sitting at 254.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
Among all active Division I players, Piper ranks 11th in career goals (143) and 20
th in career draw controls (222). Among all active A-10 players, she ranks first in goals and second in draw controls.

Only Schillinger has more career draw controls in the A-10 (254), also slotting in at 14
th nationally. Â

Colangelo ranks third among active D-I competitors with 103 career caused turnovers, being beaten out by only Reagan O'Brien of Johns Hopkins (188) and Sydney Huhtala of Niagara (163). The captain also sits fourth in the nation and second in the A-10 in career groundballs (146), ranking eighth nationally with 2.5 ground balls per game.

ABOUT FURMAN
- The Paladins are led by reigning Big South Coach of the Year Gail Wallach in her second season with the program.
- Wallach brought the team to its best season in program history in 2025, setting Furman records for wins (14), points (447), goals (299), assists (148) and draw controls (308). The team fell to High Point in the conference tournament's semifinals.
- This year's Paladins squad has beaten Austin Peay and Queens (N.C.) and fallen to Clemson and Campbell for an even 2-2 record.
- Furman is paced in points by a graduate student in the midfield, Shae Insinga, who has 15 points all coming from goals. The squad also boasts two double-digit point scorers in Lily Toole (7G-3A) and Reynolds Hester (3G-7A).
- Sophomore Sam Melville shoulders the load as the team's primary goalie and has made 26 saves on the year.

ABOUT DAVIDSON
- The Wildcats are coached by Kim Wayne in her 18th consecutive season at the helm of the program. Davidson was picked to place third in this year's A-10 Preseason Poll.
- Wayne led the program to its fifth-straight season with double-digit wins in 2025, finishing in third place in the A-10 regular season and falling in the conference tournament's quarterfinals to VCU.
- This year's Wildcats squad has yet to have a belmish on its record, sitting at a perfect 6-0 with wins over Wofford, Charlotte, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Winthrop and Queens (N.C.).
- Davidson is led in points by junior attacker Jenna Skibbe with 22 points all coming from goals. Fellow junior Brooke Ross sits second with 19 points (14G-5A).
- Junior goalie Kayla Joyce has been the only player to appear between the posts for the Wildcats this season. She has 41 total saves and has compiled a save percentage of 48.2 percent.

SERIES HISTORY
This week's meeting will be the first between St. Bonaventure and Furman. Against Davidson, the Bonnies are on a nine-game skid stretching back to April of 2015 with the all-time series between the conference foes sitting at 9-2 in favor of the Wildcats.
