OPENING FACEOFF
After a bye week break, St. Bonaventure will host UMass in their conference home opener on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. The game will be on the Marra Athletics Complex turf and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
 

CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOK
Heading into the UMass matchup with 19 points this season, Patrick Shanahan is climbing up the Bonnies record book for career points. The junior attacker currently ranks fifth in Bonnies men's lacrosse history with 65 points, closing in on Austin Blumbergs in fourth (66 points) and Conor Murphy in third (67 points). Shanahan has already set his career high in goals this season (17) and is just five points away from setting a career mark in that category as well.
 
Cole Kucinski is also putting his name in the record book. With 21 goals so far this season, the sophomore attacker is now tied for seventh for goals in a single season by a Bonnie during the program's Division I era dating back to 2019. With two more goals, he can tie Kellen Pulera and Sean Westley at fifth on the list.

SERIES HISTORY
UMass leads, 3-0

The Bonnies are looking to pick up their first-ever win in the series since joining the Atlantic 10 ranks in 2023. In their last matchup, UMass picked up a 15-4 home win over St. Bonaventure. Patrick Shanahan scored one goal and picked up two groundballs in the last matchup. Cole Kucinski also tallied one goal and one assist in the contest.
 

UMASS NOTES

  • The visitors come into the contest with a 7-3 record. UMass has started the conference schedule at 0-2, with losses to High Point (15-7) and Richmond (21-7).
  • UMass was picked to finish fourth in the A-10 Preseason Poll, led by senior defenseman Kyle Swanson who was a Preseason All-Conference pick.
  • UMass ranks 24th nationally in scoring offense at 12.3 goals a game and 36th in scoring defense, allowing 10.8 goals a game.
