WASHINGTON, D.C. – St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse senior
Brit Colangelo has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Â
The captain was impactful on defense in two Bonaventure wins this past week against Furman and Davidson, totaling six caused turnovers and three groundballs.Â
Â
The Scarborough, Ontario native recorded those three groundballs against Furman, adding two caused turnovers to help the Bonnies lock down the Paladins. She added four more caused turnovers against Davidson to push SBU toward its first conference win of the season.
On the year, Colangelo leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks ninth among all Division I players nationally in caused turnovers (19).Â
For the week, the Bonnies allowed just 11 total goals in a 15-5 win at Furman before opening A-10 play with their first-ever conference win over Davidson, 8-6.Â
Â
Colangelo and her teammates are back in action this week when the Bonnies travel to take on Cornell Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
