WASHINGTON, D.C. – St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse freshman
Gracie Williams has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Â
The Cattaraugus, N.Y. native led the Bonnies with a career-high four points (3G-1A) in last Saturday's 16-8 road win over George Mason. She got the visitors off to a hot start in the first quarter with two goals and completed her hat trick in the following 15 minutes to extend the lead.
Â
Williams has tallied seven points across two contests in the past two weeks. Over the past four Atlantic 10 conference games, she has tallied 12 of her 19 points on the year.
She will get her next opportunity to carry that momentum forward on Saturday as the Bonnies will travel to face La Salle at 11:00 a.m.
For the year, the Bonnies have scored five Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse weekly awards. Only George Washington (7) has more this season and it marks the most A-10 weekly awards for the Bonnies program since scoring seven in 2006.
