OPENING DRAW
After earning the No. 3 seed in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Tournament, St. Bonaventure will battle with No. 6 George Washington in the quarterfinals Thursday at 3:00 p.m. The tournament will be hosted by Davidson College and the winner of Thursday's game will move on to face No. 2 VCU in Friday's semifinals.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies will face off with a familiar George Washington team Thursday after closing out the regular season this past Saturday with a 15-4 win over the Revolutionaries. Sophomore midfielder Sidney Van Tassel scored a team-high five goals in the contest to set a new personal single-game career high. Senior Megan Schillinger opened the game with her 300th career draw control, becoming the first player in program history to reach the milestone.

The contest marked the first time since the 2004 season that the Bonnies have held an A-10 opponent to four or fewer goals in a single game, a feat last accomplished against the Revolutionaries in an 11-4 win on April 18, 2004. SBU held the conference's leading scorer, GW's Grace Curry, to just two goals, limiting the attacker to her second-lowest single-game scoring total of the season (1G vs. Richmond on April 11).

POSTSEASON POSITION
Following a full slate of conference games this past Saturday, the Bonnies took the No. 3 seed as they won a three-team tiebreaker with Davidson and Saint Joseph's on the basis of head-to-head goal differential. All three teams finished conference play with 6-3 records.

This year's postseason seeding matches the highest in program history for the Bonnies, last achieved in 2006. Thursday's contest will mark the first time since the 2007 season that SBU will face the same team for two games in a row, something that also occurred against George Washington that year.

NEW HEIGHTS
With Saturday's performance, the Bonnies secured their 12th conference win in the past two seasons, the most across any two-year span in program history. The team has also collected eight or more wins overall in three straight seasons for the first time since meeting the mark five years in a row from 2003 to 2007.

ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON
  • Coached by Colleen McCaffery in her fourth consecutive season, the Revolutionaries secured a 9-7 regular season record with a 4-5 conference record to earn the No. 6 seed.
  • Senior attacker Grace Curry has been a scoring machine in 2026, recording 66 goals to lead the conference. She leads the Revolutionaries with 67 points as she has also tallied an assist.
  • Joining Curry on the attack is freshman Mia Milkowski, who ranks second on the team with 63 points (33G-30A).

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Gabi Greth has started in all 16 games for George Washington, making 113 saves in that time for a save rate of 42.5 percent.

SERIES HISTORY
The Revolutionaries own the all-time series lead over the Bonnies at a mark of 16-8, but Bona's has won the last three meetings.

SBU is making its sixth Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Tournament appearance and is searching for its first A-10 Tournament win in program history.
