ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University men's soccer head coach Mick Giordano has announced the addition of Maddux Francis as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.

Francis joins the Bonnies coaching staff after finishing his playing career at NC State, spending three seasons with the Wolfpack.

"We are excited and fortunate to add Maddux to our coaching staff," Giordano said. "He comes with a strong background in coaching and leadership. Being a former All-American and leader on a team to play in a College Cup final, he understands what it takes to be elite. The welcoming personality Maddux brings will be an instant impact for our student-athletes and program. His energy and enthusiasm are palpable! We are thrilled to get him going."

He began his playing career at William Carey University before playing two seasons at Pearl River Community College.

With Pearl River, Francis started in 33 games while making 154 saves and allowing 28 goals across two seasons. He was a two-time First Team All-Region 23 selection, a two-time First Team All-MACC selection and earned NJCAA All-American accolades.

He graduated as the Wildcats all-time leader in goals against average, save percentage, clean sheets and goals against.

Francis was the lead goalkeeping coach for Wake Futbol Club North Sector in 2025. He also served as the head coach of the PA U-14 and U-12 teams while also serving as an assistant coach for the NPL U-16 and U-18 clubs.

He has also worked in operations as well as assisting with goalkeeper training sessions with USL2 and USLa.

Francis graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management from NC State in 2026 and earned his associate of arts degree from Pearl River Community College in 2023.
