ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's basketball 2026-27 non-conference slate is now official with the release of the schedule Monday. Head coach Jim Crowley's squad looks to continue its upward trajectory as a program following an 11-win improvement and trip to the national postseason a year ago.
Bona's upcoming schedule will feature five home games inside the Reilly Center, battles with four national postseason teams from last season and a holiday tournament in Atlanta.
The new season officially opens Nov. 4 when the Bonnies play host to D'Youville in the first of a three-game homestand to kick off the campaign. The following Wednesday, Nov. 11, Mercyhurst visits The RC as part of a doubleheader with the Bonnies men's basketball team hosting Cornell later that evening. The Lakers finished 14-4 in the NEC last year and reached the WNIT after the Bonnies scored a 60-57 victory in Erie.
SBU's opening homestand concludes with another challenge against a foe coming off an impressive season as Binghamton will come to the Reilly Center Nov. 14 after a 20-win season that saw the Bearcats reach the second round of the WNIT just as the Bonnies did. That will also be a doubleheader with the Bonnies men's team as they host Lafayette later that afternoon.Â
The Bonnies will travel for the first time Nov. 19 for a Big 4 clash at Buffalo in the 37th meeting all-time between the programs. SBU owns a 19-17 advantage all-time and snapped an eight-game losing skid in the series with a win last year.
Leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, SBU will fly south to take part in the Georgia State Thanksgiving Tournament Nov. 23-24. Along with host Georgia State, the Bonnies will take on Chattanooga, the SoCon runners-up from last year. The Mocs won 20 games and earned a bid to the WBIT.
After the season-opening homestand, Bona will spend the rest of November on the road, closing the month at Canisius in the 61st meeting all-time between Little Three rivals. SBU has won the last two meetings and is ahead in the series, 31-29.
After being in line to host an as yet to be announced Atlantic 10 lid-lifter at home on Dec. 2, the squad will be back on the road for a busy week leading into the break for finals. First, the Bonnies will head to Marist to play the Red Foxes on Dec. 5 for the first time since 2013. Three days later, another trip to Central New York is on tap with a game at Cornell (Dec. 8).
As the non-conference winds down and the holidays approach, St. Bonaventure will look to avenge a loss last year against UAlbany with a trek to the Capital District on Dec. 19.
Two December home games highlight the slate as the Bonnies will host Howard, last year's MEAC champs following a 26-win season, on Dec. 11 and Le Moyne on Dec. 21.
Ten Bonnies return off last year's 17-win campaign along with an impressive recruiting class including three Division I transfers and two freshmen.
Bonnies fans will get their first preview of this year's team in an exhibition contest at the Reilly Center vs. Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 31.Â
