ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure Athletics today announced a $300,000 Matching Gift Challenge for contributions to Team Unfurl in support of the men's basketball program.

All new gifts to Team Unfurl, which funds institutional NIL, will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $300,000 through September 30.

This challenge will help fuel St. Bonaventure's longstanding commitment to men's basketball as new coach Mike MacDonald '88 prepares for his first season leading the Bonnies. Team Unfurl helps St. Bonaventure attract, support and retain men's basketball student-athletes. In today's NCAA Division I landscape, Team Unfurl plays a critical role in keeping the Bonnies competitive.

The Team Unfurl Matching Gift Challenge is spearheaded by Ed Bastian '79, Sam Molinaro '80 and Ollie McGonigle '66. Bastian is the CEO of Delta Air Lines. Molinaro and McGonigle formerly served on the Board of Trustees, while Molinaro's wife, Lisa (Melillo) currently serves on the Board.

"We are incredibly grateful to Ed, Sam and Ollie for their leadership gifts and vision in creating the Team Unfurl Challenge," MacDonald said. "We are thankful for their generosity and are confident that many other Bonnies backers will follow their lead and ensure the success of this challenge."
