ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure graduate Laycee Drake has signed a professional contract to continue her basketball career overseas, inking a deal with the UK's Sheffield Hatters.
The Hatters are members of the British Super League, the top level of competition for women's basketball in Great Britain.
Drake was a star for the Bonnies last season as a graduate student, keying the program to a resurgent campaign and trip to the WNIT.
The Hancock, N.Y. native started all 33 games while leading the Bonnies in nearly every offensive category. She averaged 15.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest, reaching double-figure scoring in 26 games along with nine performances of 20 points or more.
"We are so happy and proud for Laycee and her family," St. Bonaventure head coach Jim Crowley said. "We know she will have an outstanding career."
Drake closed her college career on a high note, pouring in 28 points along with eight rebounds in Bona's WNIT First Round win over Drexel this past March, the first postseason victory for the program since 2016.
