ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team fell to Robert Morris, 2-0, Friday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Bonnies looked to take an early lead on Kyle Macfarlane's chance in the seventh minute, but his shot sailed wide of the net.
The Colonials broke through in the 19th minute when Anelson Azard punched home the game's first goal.
Callum Shillington looked to even the score just minutes later, forcing Robert Morris goalkeeper Josh Lane to make a leaping save.
Robert Morris made it a 2-0 game just before halftime when Azard struck for his second goal of the game in the 38th minute.
Macfarlane had a clean look on net from outside the box, sending in a rocket of a shot that bounced off the crossbar, denying the Bonnies their first goal of the game.
The Bonnies were forced to play a man down after Jack Steel received a second yellow card in the 54th minute.
Alistair McFall looked to cut into the deficit in the 61st minute, but his shot sailed high of the net.
The Colonials would not allow another scoring chance the rest of the way, earning the victory.
Macfarlane and McFall paced the Bonnies with two shots each, while Winston Jory made two saves in net.
