KICKING OFF
To conclude its four-game home stand, the St. Bonaventure women's soccer team will host Cleveland State at the Marra Athletics Complex this Sunday at 1:00 p.m., highlighted by the team's Senior Day. Prior to kickoff, the Bonnies will honor their five student-athletes graduating as part of the Class of 2027.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies were tripped up by Little Three rival Niagara this past Monday, falling 3-1 at home under the lights after facing a 2-0 deficit coming out of the halftime break. Despite a goal in the 52nd minute by redshirt junior Audrey Cadman, a score which marked her first at the Division I level and was assisted by sophomore Ava Reybitz, the hosts were unable to claw their way back into contention for a victory throughout the second half. Senior goalkeeper Juliana Castellano earned her third start of the season and made seven saves in a full 90 minutes of action.
 
RISING TALENT
Two Bona's underclassmen, Reybitz (1G-2A) and Liana Tata (2G), sit tied for the team lead with four points each as they have found early success this fall.
 
Reybitz tallied the game-winning score in the Bonnies' season opener against Saint Peters and has since picked up two assists, a mark which is currently the third highest in the Atlantic 10. Tata, a freshman, punched in her two scores on penalty kicks, giving SBU an edge against both Cornell and Le Moyne. She has also been effective in live play as she has recorded the second-most shots on goal per game in the conference (1.80).
 
Adding to Bona's impressive group of underclassmen are freshmen Aoife Murphy, who scored her first collegiate goal at Cornell, and Ava Dimperio, who accomplished that same feat opposite Le Moyne. Five of the team's six goals have been scored by student-athletes in the sophomore and freshman classes.
 
MINDING THE NET
The Brown and White have utilized a goalkeeper tandem of both Castellano and freshman Callie Turpin so far in 2026.
 
Castellano has shouldered the majority of the goalkeeping load, starting and playing complete games against Saint Peter's, Canisius and Niagara. Allowing just 1.33 goals per game, she has made 15 total saves for a save rate of 78.9 percent.
 
Turpin earned her first collegiate start and complete game at Cornell and recorded another 90-minute appearance just one week later against Le Moyne. She has made seven saves, good for a success rate of 70 percent.

SCOUTING CLEVELAND STATE

• The Vikings are coached by Mark Sappington in his third consecutive season with the program. Last year, he led the team to a 4-6-7 record with those seven ties marking the most in single-season program history.
• CSU was selected ninth out of 12 programs in the Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll. This season, the team holds an 0-4 record after falling to Kent State (3-0), Eastern Kentucky (5-0), Duquesne (3-0) and Morehead State (2-0).
• The Vikings will have another chance to pick up their first win of the season before facing the Bonnies when they travel to match up against Akron on Thursday evening.
• Sunday's visitors rank fifth in the Horizon League with an average of 9.50 shots per game.
• Fifth-year goalkeeper Hayleigh Lewis has started in all four contests for CSU, making seven saves in that time.

 
SERIES HISTORY
The Bonnies are 4-3-1 all-time against the Vikings with the programs' most recent meeting ending in CSU's favor, 1-0. The teams faced off for the first time in 2004 and have met in three of the past four seasons.
