Holmes earned Atlantic 10, Big 4 and College Sports Madness Athlete of the Week honors after a game for the ages Jan. 6 when he scored 38 points in a victory over Saint Joseph's.

Holmes shot 14-for-22 from the floor and 8-for-12 from beyond the arc. He added 10 rebounds for a double-double, also pitching in three assists. The 38 points are the most by any A-10 player in a single game this season while his eight threes are tied for a conference season high.

Further, Holmes' scoring effort ranks tied for eighth in Reilly Center history by a Bonnies player, matching the 38 points scored by the legendary Bob Lanier vs. Fairfield on Feb. 8, 1969. Lanier also holds the single game Bona RC scoring record with 51 set Feb. 24, 1969 vs. Seton Hall. During the Mark Schmidt Era, only three Bona players have surpassed Holmes' scoring effort in Reilly Center games – Adams with 44 vs. Saint Louis in 2018; Andrew Nicholson's 44 vs. Ohio in a 2010 game which went four overtimes and Eric Mosley with 39 vs. UMass in 2013.
