George Mason scored 10 of the first 11 goals of the game and never looked back as it defeated the St. Bonaventure lacrosse team 18-10 on Tuesday afternoon at George Mason Stadium.
The loss drops the Brown and White to 1-2 on the season, while Mason improves to 2-2.
The Patriots owned a 14-3 lead at halftime as they outshot the Bonnies 25-4 in the first 30 minutes.
There was a bright spot for St. Bonaventure in the first half as junior Brenna Houghton recorded her 50th career assists on a goal by classmate Kimberly Ross.
The Brown and White settled down in the second half and were able to outscore Mason 7-4 in the final frame.
Ross finished with her third-straight hat trick, while Houghton had three points on a goal and two assists. Sophomore Keri Vito and freshman Molly Hastrich each had two goals. Sophomore Katelyn Faas and freshman Nicole Mahoney rounded out the Bona goal scorers.
Sophomore Eboni Preston and freshman Tori Waheibi split time in the cage. Preston made five saves in the first half, while Waheibi turned away four shots in the second.
St. Bonaventure will take on Albany on Friday at 3 p.m.
