Bonnies Head to Ohio State

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team (1-0) will return to action at Ohio State on Sunday. The Buckeyes are currently 0-1 after a 21-9 loss to Duke in their season opener.

Ohio State features reigning American Lacrosse Confernce Goalie of the Year Annie Carruthers, a senior, and Alayna Markwordt, who earned IWCLA All-West Region honors as a sophomore last year.

The Bonnies defeated Bucknell in their season opener last Sunday. Freshman Cara Callahan led things off in her collegiate debut for the Bonnies by scoring the game's first goal. Callahan and senior Christine Hanley each scored four goals to lead the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team to a 14-10 season-opening victory over the Bisons. Buckeyes' unior Alayna Markwordt also scored four goals in her season opener against Duke.

St. Bonaventure is currently predicted to finish in eighth place in the Atlantic 10 conference head coaches poll.

The Bonnies return to action March 6 against Niagara in a game scheduled to take place at McGraw-Jennings Field.
