Drabin Powers Bonnies to Victory at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Christine Hanley and Danielle Drabin each netted three goals, Emily Kane passed off three assists, and the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team (2-2) scored five straight to overcome an early deficit in a 13-8 win over Robert Morris on Friday.

The Colonials (1-5) got out to a 3-1 lead on a pair of goals from Cara Hernandez, but Drabin sparked the Bonnies' five unanswered run that held up for the win. SBU freshman Karly Kocis (1-2) matched her career high with 13 saves between the pipes.

RMU's Ashley Trombetta converted free position shots just 1:14 apart in the early goings of the second half to cut the deficit down to one, 8-7, but Drabin answered again, recording back-to-back 8-meter goals just 12 seconds apart and finding Cara Callahan on the Bonnies' next goal to make it 11-7.

Daisy Timlin put SBU up 12-7 at the 14:59 mark of the second and Callahan added another off a feed from Emily Kane that made it 13-7 and capped another five-goal surge.

For Robert Morris, Hernandez scored three times and assisted on the game's final goal with 2:05 left to finish with four points.

The Bonnies return to action at Niagara on Thursday.
