PHILADELPHIA – Danielle Drabin tallied a team-high five points on four goals and an assist for the second game in a row to lead St. Bonaventure (5-7, 2-4 Atlantic 10), but Temple (6-9, 4-2) used a 10-2 scoring run to bridge the halftime gap in a 14-10 victory at Geasey Field on Sunday.
Drabin went to the cage unassisted twice in a three-goal run for St. Bonaventure that gave the Bonnies a 5-4 lead with 7:11 to play in the first half. From there though, the Owls outran SBU 10-2 – broken only by goals from Drabin and Emily Kane – to build a 14-7 advantage with under eight minutes remaining.
Kane (2g, 1a) and Lauren Michaels each scored goals and Drabin converted a free-poistion shot to close out the scoring. Christine Hanley, who also scooped up a game-high six ground balls and registered four caused turnovers and three draw controls, had a pair of goals in the loss.
Midfielder Stephany Parcell led Temple with five goals, while Charlotte Swavola had four points on three goals and an assist.
Bonnies' freshman goalie Karly Kocis (4-7) made 10 saves between the pipes.
St. Bonaventure returns to McGraw-Jennings Field on Thursday to host Duquesne (9-6, 3-3) in an Atlantic 10 Conference game.
