ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (5-7, 2-4 A-10) hosts Duquesne (9-6, 3-3 A-10) in its final Atlantic 10 Conference game of the regular season on Thursday at Alfred University.
The Bonnies return home after dropping a 14-10 decision at Temple on Sunday. Junior attack Danielle Drabin paced the offense with four goals and an assist, while fellow junior Emily Kane contributed two goals and an assist. Senior midfielder Christine Hanley chipped in two tallies for the 147th and 148th goals of her St. Bonaventure career. Freshman goalkeeper Karly Kocis made 10 saves on 27 shots faced.
Hanley leads the Bonnies in goals (32) and points (41), while Kane has contributed 12 goals and a team-high 27 assists for her 39 points. Freshman midfielder Cara Callahan is second in goals scored with 29, followed by Drabin's 27 tallies.
Duquesne has won two of its last three games, which included a 16-15 double overtime loss at home against Temple on April 15. Senior attacker Katie Rekart is the Dukes leader in goals (40) and assists (10) for her team-high 50 points. Sophomore midfielder Meredith Dunn is second in scoring, chipping in 36 tallies and seven helpers for 43 points. Junior goalkeeper Liz Walker has recorded a decision in all 15 games, making 112 saves on 321 shots.
The lacrosse team closes out its regular season with a pair of games over the holiday weekend, hosting Detroit Mercy on Saturday before taking on Canisius in its 2011 home finale Monday.
