Kent State Holds Off Bonnies for 1-0 Win

KENT, Ohio - Kent State (2-0) junior Megan Repas scored the game's only goal in the 75th minute and St. Bonaventure (1-1) couldn't find the equalizer as the Golden Flashes went on to a 1-0 win over the Bonnies Sunday afternoon at Zoeller Field.

After a scoreless first half saw the Bonnies out shoot (7-6) and out corner (4-1) Kent State, the Golden Flashes ratcheted up and went ahead for good when Repas slipped a 15-yard shot past Bona keeper Megan Junker in the 75th. Junker (1-1), who posted her first career shutout in the Bonnies' 1-0 blanking of Bucknell on Friday, turned aside seven shots in the loss.

"We couldn't possess the ball and never got into a flow on their field," a disappointed Manoj Khettry said following the game. "I'm confident we'll regroup and find our way, and it'll be nice to play two home games, but we'll have to be better everywhere."

The Bonnies return to the pitch at 5 p.m. on Friday to host Siena in the second game of a doubleheader with the men's team, who will take on Buffalo at 3 p.m.
