Brown and White take on Canisius

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team return to the pool to take on the Little Three Rival Canisius Friday at 4:00 p.m. 

The Bonnies plan to repeat last season's 141-101 win over the Griffins. 

In last year's meeting, Lauren Caldwell, Whitney Dougherty and Meaghan McCann swept the 200-yard IM. Caldwell finished first with a time of 2:12.16, Dougherty finished second with a time of 2:17.80 and McCann finished third with a time of 2:19.01. 

Then freshman, Aly Paz finished first touching in at 11:04.48 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Doughery came touched in at 11:28.13, good for a third place finish. Rachel Bull had two second place finishes for the Bonnies, with a time of 1:57.12 in the 200-yard freestyle and a time of 5:15.94 in the 500-yard freestyle. Canisius was recently defeated by Marist last Saturday, 113-182. 

The Bonnies are coming off a 240.5-56.5 loss to Pittsburgh. During that meet, sophomore Lauren Caldwell posted two second place finishes. She touched in at 58.89 in the 100-yard butterfly and swam in at 2:09.79 in the 200-yard IM. 

Freshmen Laura O'Beirne and Elizabeth Malone also received second-place finishes. O'Beirne finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with at time of 1:08.90 and Malone touched in for her second-place finish with a time of 2:08.44 in the 200-yard butterfly.

Following the meet with Canisius, the Brown and White will return to the pool in a week on Nov. 3 to face Duquesne, LaSalle and Xavier in a quad meet at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
