Both Tennis Teams Return To Action This Weekend

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's and women's tennis teams return to action this weekend. The men will play their first Atlantic 10 Conference home match of the season against Fordham on Friday at 4 p.m. and then take on Cleveland State on Saturday at 1 p.m. 

The men are coming off of a 6-1 loss to Duquesne on Feb. 11. In that match, partners junior Oscar Yanez and Luis Guevara and Elliot Fanshel and Javier Ortiz earned the only points in the match for the Bonnies with their doubles match victories.

Fordham men's tennis is coming off of a 4-3 loss to No. 48 Cornell on Feb 12. Cleveland State recently defeated Xavier on Feb 10 by a score of 4-3.

The women will travel to West Point to face Army on Saturday at Noon and then face Fordham at West Point on Sunday at Noon. 

The women are coming off of a 5-2 victory over Youngstown State on Feb 4. They also defeated Slippery Rock by a score of 5-2 on Feb 5. Following the weekend's victories, freshman Marissa Brossard leads the team with six singles victories. The doubles teams of Brossard and senior Manuela Marin-Salcedo and juniors Riley Archer and Kathryn Kvas share a team high with four wins each.

Army is coming off of a 5-2 win over Fordham on Feb 12. It will face Rutgers at noon on Feb 17.

The women return to action on Feb 24 when they host IUP at 4 p.m. and then host Bucknell on Feb 25 at 3 p.m. The men will host Bucknell on Feb 25 at 3 p.m.
