#Bonnies Head To Colgate Looking To Build On Hot Start

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (4-1) travels to Hamilton for a contest against Colgate (4-4) at Tyler's Field Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The Bonnies hope to continue their strong start to the season as their four victories this season have already exceeded last season's win total.

The Brown and White enter Wednesday's game after holding on to defeat Siena, 9-8, at Corning Memorial Stadium. Jenna Schlagenhauf's four first-half goals lead the Brown and White while Elspeth McGarry scored twice. Cara Callahan, LeighAnn Stauffer and Taylor Ventre also netted goals. Goalie Karly Kocis recorded 12 saves in the victory.

After St. Bonaventure opened up a 9-3 lead by the 11:36 mark in second half, Siena stormed back, scoring five unanswered goals in the game's final eight minutes. With 35 seconds left, Stauffer won a face-off, securing victory for the Bonnies.

Through five games, Schlagenhauf leads the team with 18 goals and 24 points. She shares the team lead with Mikayla Place in assists with six.

On Saturday, Colgate earned a 10-9 double overtime victory at Lehigh. Through eight games, Kate Sheridan leads the Raiders with 19 assists and 26 points. Amanda O'Sullivan's 21 goals are a team high.

Originally scheduled as a St. Bonaventure home game, the contest will be played at Colgate due to poor field conditions at McGraw-Jennings Field.

Following Wednesday's game, the Bonnies will travel to New Rochelle to face Iona at noon on Saturday (Mar. 23).
