#Bonnies Travel North To Take On Little Three Rival Canisius

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (5-2) travels to Buffalo today to face Canisius (5-3) Monday at Demske Sports Complex at 4 p.m. The Bonnies will be looking to improve on what is already the fourth best start in program history.

The Bonnies enter Monday's contest after earning a 14-9 victory against Iona on Sunday (Mar. 23). Jenna Schlagenhauf and Erin Thomas each netted three goals while Taylor Ventre scored twice. Cara Callahan, Carrie Kubasta and Kellyn Savage each added a goal of their own. Karly Kocis recorded seven saves in the victory. The Bonnies scored seven goals in each half and netted three unanswered goals in the final six minutes to secure the victory.

Through seven games, Schlagenhauf leads the team in points (31), goals (23) and assists (8). Her 3.29 goals per game is tops in the Atlantic 10. The Clarence Center, N.Y. native's 4.43 points per game are good for second in the Conference.

On March 19, Canisius defeated Monmouth 14-9 at home. Tori Quinn leads the Golden Griffins with 34 points, 22 goals and 12 assists. The Bonnies lead the all time series with Canisius 7-4. Last season, the Golden Griffins defeated the Brown and White 20-8 at Demske Sports Complex.

Following Monday's game, St. Bonaventure will begin A-10 Conference play Friday (Mar. 29) against Duquesne. Due to unplayable field conditions the game will be played at Alfred University's Merrill Field at 2:30 p.m.
