A-10 Play Begins As The #Bonnies Host Duquesne In Alfred

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (5-3) opens Atlantic 10 Conference play when it faces Duquesne (5-4) Friday (Mar. 29) at 2:30 p.m. at Alfred University's Merrill Field. The Bonnies hope to continue their strong start to its season into conference play and improve after a winless A-10 campaign last year.

The Brown and White enter their conference schedule following an 18-3 loss at Canisius on Monday (Mar. 25). The Golden Griffins took control of the game early, scoring the contest's first nine goals. Jenna Schlagenhauf scored twice in the loss while Kellyn Savage netted one goal. Through eight games, Schlagenhauf leads St. Bonaventure with nine assists, 25 goals and 34 points.

Duquesne comes into Friday's matchup after an 18-9 road victory against Bucknell on Monday. Amanda Kidder and Haley Marafioti share the team lead in scoring with 34 points each. Kidder's 25 goals and Marafioti's 18 assists are team highs.

Duquesne leads the all-time series against St. Bonaventure 11-3. Last season, the Dukes earned a 22-9 home victory over the Bonnies.

Alfred University will host Friday's game due to unplayable field conditions at McGraw-Jennings Field.

After Friday's game, St. Bonaventure will continue its conference schedule in Philadelphia on Friday (Apr. 5) against Temple and then will host Saint Joseph's on Sunday (Apr. 7).
