Women's Tennis Travels To Philadelphia For Two A-10 Matches

PHILADELPHIA – The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team travels to the City of Brotherly Love for Atlantic 10 matches against La Salle at 1 p.m. Friday and Saint Joseph's at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Bonnies (2-12) are aiming to snap a 10-match losing streak, as well as pick up their first conference victory of the season. They are winless in two A-10 matches, having suffered 7-0 losses to Temple and Massachusetts.

St. Bonaventure, however, has had success against La Salle of late, with a pair of 7-0 victories over the Explorers in each of the last two seasons. For La Salle, which is 2-6 overall and 1-3 at home this season, the match against SBU is its conference opener.

The Bonnies will seek to snap a two-match losing streak against Saint Joseph's, which defeated SBU 4-3 and 5-2 the last two seasons. The Hawks are 6-8 overall, 0-3 at home and winless in five A-10 matches, but they will bring a five-match winning streak into Saturday's meeting with the Bonnies.

Sophomores Fatya Amiri and Marissa Brossard lead St. Bonaventure with 10 singles victories each. Amiri and Brossard (pictured) have also partnered for a team-best four doubles wins.

After this weekend, the Bonnies stay in conference for a match at Duquesne on Friday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m.
