LEWISBURG, PA. – The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (5-7) fell behind Bucknell (3-11) early and was never able to recover as the Bison ran away from the Bonnies for a 17-9 victory on Tuesday night.
Bucknell struck first with 26:16 to play in the first half. Jenna Schlagenhauf scored her first goal of the day and first in two games to equal the score but that was as close as the game would be the rest of the way.
Bucknell commenced on a 4-0 run to open up the lead before Mackenzie Jordan scored her fifth of the season. The Bison however would respond with yet another 4-0 run before Erin Thomas closed the half with her tenth score. Bucknell lead 9-3 at the break.
The teams traded goals early on the second half but a 4-0 run by Bucknell beginning with 10:38 to play put away the Brown and White for good as the Bison coasted to the 17-9 victory.
Jenna Schlagenhauf finished with three goals to add to her now team high 29 goals. Mikayla Place scored her fifth while Marybeth Madia added two, Mackenzie Jordan added two and Erin Thomas tossed in one.
The Bonnies will be back in action this weekend when they travel to George Washington on Friday before heading off to Richmond on Sunday. The GW game is set for 4:00 p.m. The Bonnies will tilt with Richmond at noon.
