@BonniesLax falls to Siena, 16-7

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. ― The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (0-4) allowed 10 second half goals leading to a 16-7 defeat at Siena (2-5) at Siena Turf Field Sunday afternoon.

Saints attacker Casey Irwin recorded the game's first goal one minute and a second into the contest, but the Brown and White tied the score about six minutes later on a goal by midfielder Taylor Fallon. Siena then recorded three unanswered goals, two scored by attacker Sarah Croutier and one scored by attacker Alyssa Treanor. After Bonnies midfielder Lily Timlin scored a free position goal with about 12 and a half minutes left in the first half, Siena midfielder Lauren Smith and attacker Erin Mossop netted goals to give their team a 6-2 halftime lead.

After Saints defenseman Cara McQuillan and Bonnies attacker Mikayla Place exchanged goals to open the second half, Siena scored three unanswered goals, recorded by Mossop, McQuillan and Smith. After a goal by St. Bonaventure midfielder Mary Maestri cut the score to 10-4, the Saints recorded the next four goals in the contest with two each netted by midfielder Julia Sirianni and Treanor. Over the last 10 minutes of the contest, St. Bonaventure recorded three goals, scored by midfielder Scarlet Jaworski, midfielder LeighAnn Stauffer and Fallon. Siena added two more goals, both scored by attacker Maddie Devine.

Treanor recorded three goals and three assists for a total of a game-high six points. Fallon's two goals gave her a team-high two points in the contest for the Brown and White. 

Siena starting goalie Samantha DePasquale recorded eight saves and allowed six goals in about 58 minutes. Ashley Holdridge allowed a goal in about of two minutes in relief. St. Bonaventure goalie Sara Schlagenhauf recorded 14 saves and allowed 16 goals in the contest.

The Bonnies will return to action on Thursday, March 20, when they take on Niagara at Niagara University at 4:00 (please note the site change).
