@BonniesLax Drops A-10 Contest To La Salle

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure lost 20-7 to La Salle in an Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse game Friday at the Marra Complex.

La Salle jumped out to a 4-0 lead to open the game, but the Bonnies drew within 6-3 midway through the first half on goals by Rachel Perla, LeighAnn Stauffer and Mikayla Place. It was a 9-5 game when the Explorers scored two goals in the last 18 seconds of the half to take an 11-5 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, La Salle scored six of the first seven goals to open a commanding, 17-6 lead.

La Salle had a 37-25 edge in shots and an 18-10 advantage in draw controls. La Salle goalie Gabby Antonelli turned away 12 Bonnies shots.

Taylor Fallon led the Bonnies with two goals while Perla, Stauffer, Place, Erica Knaub and Mary Maestri each scored once.

St. Bonaventure starting goalie Morgan Conroy made nine saves before being replaced by fellow freshman Kerrigan Cummins, who made three.

Caitlyn Brostrand and Allee Ilgenfritz both scored five goals to pace the Explorers.

St. Bonaventure fell to 1-12 on the season and is 0-4 in Atlantic 10 Conference games. La Salle improved to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the A-10.

The Bonnies will close out the home portion of their schedule this Sunday, April 12, against Saint Joseph's at noon.  Seniors Colleen Guilfoyle and Kaitlin Jennings will be honored before the game.
