FAIRFAX, Va. – St. Bonaventure lost at George Mason, 18-9, Friday afternoon at GMU Stadium. 

The Patriots scored the first 10 goals of the game, taking a 10-0 lead by the 7:58 mark of the opening half. Scarlett Jaworski got the Bonnies on the scoreboard 6:25 before halftime, and Taylor Fallon added a goal five minutes later, but Mason led 12-2 at intermission. George Mason scored on 12 of its 13 shots in the first half.

St. Bonaventure did outscore the Patriots 7-6 in the second half but could not come any closer than 14-8.

Rachel Perla scored three goals for the Bonnies while Fallon added two scores. LeighAnn Stauffer, Mikayla Place, Mary Maestri, and Jaworski all scored once.

St. Bonaventure freshman goalie Kerrigan Cummins had one save and allowed 10 goals before being replaced by classmate Morgan Conroy, who stopped six shots. 

St. Bonaventure fell to 2-13 overall and 1-5 the Atlantic 10. George Mason moved to 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the A-10.

The Bonnies will remain on the road to face George Washington this Sunday, April 19, in Washington, D.C., at noon.
