Coach Oduro Adds Eight To Join @BonniesMSoccer In The Fall

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Head coach Kwame Oduro has announced that eight student-athletes have committed to join the St. Bonaventure men's soccer program in the fall of 2015.

The Bonnies' eight commitments are: Remi Dujardin (Hong Kong / French International School of Hong Kong), Anthony Gaglianese (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport), Nwafornso Kosisochukwu (Abuja, Nigeria / Divine Mercy Secondary School), William Matthew Lane (Long Beach, Calif. / Golden West), Rolando Monte de Oca (Miami, Fla. / Parkland College), Alexander Olday (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier Central), Noel Orozco (Houston, Texas / Oklahoma Baptist) and Nicholas Richards (Victor, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit).

Remi Dujardin - Midfield
Dujardin signed his national letter of intent (NLI) to join the St. Bonaventure men's soccer team this fall after an impressive high school and amateur career. Dujardin was a four-year captain for French International School of Hong Kong as he tallied 39 goals and 35 assists. During his time in high school, Dujardin was a three-time Player of the Year (2012, 2013 and 2015) and was champion of the Hong Kong School Sports Federation U20 and Champions of Fourth Asian French Schools cup.

Dujardin has also been a member of the Hong Kong National team for the past five years, as he has appeared on the U16, U17 and U18 national teams and played in 20 matches.

Dujardin was also a member of two premier club teams in Hong Kong, as he was with Kitchee Sports Club and Sun Pegasus, both teams are in the first division of the Hong Kong First Division League. The Hong Kong native played with the U15 and U16 with Kitchee, while playing U18 with Sun Pegasus for the last three years.

Oduro's take: "Remi is a very good technical midfielder who should step in and make an immediate impact. His high level of competition at the International level will be key to our rebuilding process."

Anthony Gaglianese - Midfield
Gaglianese will join the Bonnies after a successful four-year career at Fairport High School. During his time with the Red Raiders, Gaglianese's team tallied a total of 56 wins with only 19 losses. Gaglianese help lead Fairport to three sectional final appearances, two sectional titles, two regional titles and two state finals. The Fairport, N.Y. native registered 24 goals and 37 assists during his high school career.

Gaglianese has been a member of the Doug Miller Soccer Academy for the past five years (2010-15) where he has won the State Cup. During his time with the academy, Gaglianese tallied 10 goals and 45 assists.

Oduro's take: "Anthony is another technical midfielder who will see time in the midfield. His distribution is excellent and he is always looking to keep possession."

Nwafornso Kosisochukwu – Forward
Kosisochukwu, or Kosi for short, joins the Bonnies as a two-year starter for Divine Mercy, in which he appeared in all 18 games. In his two years with the team, he won the championship both years and tallied 12 goals and five assists. He was named Most Valuable Player in 2014.

As for club soccer, Kosi played four years from Evergreen FC under the guidance of Hassan Gabin.

Oduro's take: "Kosi is a powerful, athletic center forward with a soft touch. His pace will cause some problems for defenses. Kosi will be an important piece in our attack."

Matt Lane - Defense
Lane is a junior college transfer from Golden West College in Huntington, Calif. Lane started 19 of 20 games that he appeared in, while he recorded two goals on five shots as a center back. Lane went on to record the game-winning goal against Cypress College.

Prior to Golden West, Lane was four year starter for Long Beach Millikan where they won three Moore League Titles and one CIF Division I Championship. As a junior, Lane helped lead his squad to a 28-3-3 record, while as a senior captain the team went 19-3-6.

In high school, Lane was named First Team All-League, Moore League Defensive Player of the Year and Press Telegram All Area First Team.

Oduro's take: "Matt is a JUCO transfer who is going to add experience to our backline. Matt is a big physical defender, who will be a huge asset for our defense. He is versatile and can play anywhere in the back and in the midfield."

Rolando Monte de Oca – Defense
Monte de Oca is a junior college transfer from Parkland College in Champaign, Ill. While at Parkland from 2013-15, Monte de Oca claimed the conference championship.

In high school, Monte de Oca was a three-sport athlete, as he competed in soccer, football and track. On the soccer field, he posted a stellar 34-5-2 record in varsity. He was a member of the science national honor society.

Oduro's take: "Rolando is another JUCO transfer defender bringing in a ton of game experience. He is an attacking full back that is always looking to join the attack."

Alexander Olday - Goalkeeper
Olday is the lone goalkeeper apart of Coach Oduro's first signing class as head coach for the St. Bonaventure men's soccer team. Olday has been a three-year starter between the pipes for Frontier Central High School. In his sophomore year, he was named ECIC Section VI All-Conference.

Olday played for seven years with Buffalo United/Empire Revolution during the years of 2006 till 2013. During his time with the club, Olday won the State Cup in 2012 and 2013. In 2013, Olday joined USSDA Empire Revolution and earned the 2013-14 Coach award MVP.

Oduro's take: "Alex is a great shot stopper and has all the necessary tools to be successful at this level.  Alex's extensive playing time with the Empire Revolution Academy will be dividend as he progresses as a division one goalkeeper." 

Noel Orozco – Midfield
Orozco is a junior college transfer from Oklahoma Baptist University. Orozco started all 18 games that he appeared in last season, while registering two goals and two assists. As a freshman, he was named Newcomer of the Year, as he started 11 games and led the team with four assists.

In the summer, Orozo was a member of the Houston Dynamo U23 team as an outside back.

Orozco also excels in the classroom as he earned Academic All-Conference honors while at OBU. He has appeared on the dean's list twice too.

Oduro's take: "Noel is a transfer who will add some experience to our young squad. He is a possession oriented player and technically clean on the ball. We expect him to make an impact in the midfield." 

Nicholas Richards – Defense
Richards is a three year team captain from McQuaid Jesuit, who tallied 22 goals and 18 assists over his career for the Knights. During his time at McQuaid Jesuit, Richards received numerous accolades including NYSPHSSA Section V Class AA All Sectional Team and First Team Rochester City Catholic.

Richards was a member of Empire Revolution Rochester club team for five years.  He played one year for Empire Revolution Buffalo U17.

Oduro's take: "Nikko is a kid that I have had the privilege of coaching at the youth club level. His determination and work-ethic will take him far. He is comfortable with both feet and we hope to see him playing outside back."
