@BonniesLax Outgunned In Second Half, Falls To Binghamton

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Binghamton outscored St. Bonaventure 11-6 in the second half to post an 18-13 win over the Bonnies on Tuesday at the Marra Complex.

The teams were tied at 7-7 at halftime but the Bearcats grabbed control early in the second half, scoring five straight goals over the first 8:41. Binghamton eventually expanded the lead to 17-9.

Draw controls were a factor in the loss for St. Bonaventure. After winning 10 of 15 draws in the first half, the Bonnies only won seven of 18 in the second half.

LeighAnn Stauffer led St. Bonaventure with a season high five goals. She also recorded seven draw controls. Taylor Fallon scored three times while Rachel Perla and Mikayla Place both scored two goals. Mary Maestri added one goal and two assists. Place also had a pair of assists.

St. Bonaventure starting goalie Morgan Conroy made five saves before being replaced by fellow freshman Kerrigan Cummings early in the second half. Cummings made seven saves.

Eight different players scored for Binghamton led by Tiffany Ryan with four goals.

St. Bonaventure, which has now dropped five games in a row, fell to 1-11. Binghamton improved to 6-7.

The Bonnies will host La Salle this Friday, April 10, at 3:00.
