ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Scarlet Jaworski netted four goals and Taylor Fallon scored three times to lead the St. Bonaventure lacrosse team to a 12-9 Atlantic 10 victory over George Washington at a windswept and cold Marra Athletic Fields Complex on Sunday afternoon.

St. Bonaventure (3-7, 1-1 Atlantic 10) never trailed en route to its first conference triumph of the year.

After the start of the game was pushed back two hours from its scheduled first draw of noon due to temperatures below 20 degrees, Fallon started the scoring at 26:44 off an assist from Mikayla Place. Jaworski followed less than a minute later for a 2-0 edge.

Defense prevailed through the blowing snow with winds often kicking up as the two teams combined for just six goals in the first 30 minutes. The Bonnies went to halftime with a 4-2 lead despite a man-down goal from GW's Julia Lawson with 2:01 left in the half after Bona opened a 4-1 advantage.

Jaworski started a 3-0 Bona run to take control at the beginning of the season half. When Fallon scored unassisted with 22:07 remaining, the score stretched to 7-2.

Back-to-back goals from GW (2-8, 1-1) made things interesting as the visitors pulled within three with 16:46 remaining. Freshman Rylee Arnold helped swing things back in favor of the Bonnies, however, with two consecutive goals, her second coming off a free position shot with 12:21 to go.

St. Bonaventure pulled ahead, 12-7, following another score from Jaworski with just over six minutes left as though GW scored three times in the final five minutes, the Bonnies never relinquished control.

Kerrigan Cummins had a standout day in net, making several impressive saves on her way to 13 stops for the day.

Jalen Middlebrooks, Rachel Perla and Erica Knaub all scored a goal apiece for the Brown and White.

The Bonnies head to La Salle for a Friday afternoon contest. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m.
