Box Score ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Senior Mikayla Place had four goals and four assists but St. Bonaventure lost its final game of the season to Richmond, 17-13, on Saturday at the Marra Complex.
Playing in her final collegiate game, Place tied her season high in points (eight) and set a season high with her four goals.
St. Bonaventure trailed 9-4 at halftime but rallied in the second half, twice pulling within three of the Spiders. Place's goal with 13:14 left made it an 11-8 game.
Richmond then scored three straight goals to extend its lead to 14-8. Molly Driscoll and Place answered with back-to-back scores to bring the Bonnies within 14-10, but that was as close as they got the rest of the game.
St. Bonaventure sophomore goalie Morgan Conroy, who replaced started Kerrigan Cummins 12 minutes into the first half, helped keep the Bonnies within striking distance by making 12 saves. The Bonnies were outshot 43-29 on the day.
Junior Taylor Fallon scored three goals for St. Bonaventure while classmate Scarlet Jaworski and freshman Molly Driscoll both notched a pair of goals. Maddison Appel and Rachel Perla each scored once.
St. Bonaventure, a shorthanded team all season due to injuries, ended 3-14 overall and 1-8 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Richmond is 6-9 overall and 3-6.
