La Salle Drops @BonniesLax, 14-4

PHILADELPHIA – Host La Salle pounced early with a dominating first half and would cruise to a 14-4 win over the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team on Friday afternoon.

La Salle (4-6, 2-1 Atlantic 10) scored first just over four minutes in when Katelyn Fay found the net unassisted. The Bonnies would even the score a little more than two minutes later off a free position goal from Taylor Fallon.

The rest of the half would belong to the Explorers. La Salle exploded for an 8-0 run to take a commanding 9-1 advantage with 7:29 remaining in the half.

St. Bonaventure (3-8, 1-2) received another score from Fallon with 2:34 to go before intermission, but another score from the Explorers gave the hosts a 10-2 lead at the break.

La Salle ran out the clock in the second half, going ahead 11-2 just 28 seconds into the period, never relinquishing control.

Mikayla Place and Scarlet Jaworski also tallied goals for St. Bonaventure. Fay led all scorers by finding the net six times for La Salle, firing 13 total shots.

Kerrigan Cummins started and made two saves for the Bonnies. Morgan Conroy saw over 37 minutes in net and turned away eight shots. La Salle's Sarah Gallagher recorded 12 saves to earn the victory.

The Bonnies return to action on Sunday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Fields Complex vs. VCU with opening draw scheduled for 12 noon.
