Box Score LEWISTON, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles scored 10 first half goals on the way to a 18-5 win over the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team Monday afternoon.
Scarlet Jawarski put the Bonnies on top early with her first goal of the season at the 28:04 mark of the first half. After Niagara tied the score, Erika Knaub put the Brown and White up 2-1 with a goal at the 24:20 mark.
After leading 2-1, Niagara scored seven straight goals to take a 9-2 advantage. Rachel Perla ended the scoring drought with 2:50 left in the first half. Niagara added their final goal of the half with 1:26 on the clock to take a 10-3 lead into the break.
In the second half, Madison Appel put the Bonnies on the board with her first of the season to make it 12-4 Niagara. Rachel Perla rounded out the Brown and White's scoring with her goal at the 2:26 mark, her second of the afternoon.
In net, junior Morgan Conroy started the game, and made 10 saves before being replaced by Kerrigan Cummins, who made 2 saves in relief.
Niagara was led by Alexis Morales. The attacker scored 5 goals on 7 shots. In net, Andrea Francisco made 7 saves in the win.
The Bonnies will return to action Saturday, February 25th when they travel to Army West Point for a 2:00 p.m. game.
