Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team dropped their opening Atlantic 10 game to George Washington on Friday afternoon, 10-9.

The Bonnies jumped on the board first as Rachel Perla found the back of the net to give St. Bonaventure an early lead. George Washington would then rally to score three straight goals to give the Colonials a 3-1 advantage.

The Brown and White responded with Maddison Appel and Scarlet Jaworski both finding the net to even the game up at three all.

George Washington answered right away to break the tie, but Jaworski broke free and scored for the Bonnies to tie the game at four heading to half.

St. Bonaventure sent a message in the early part of the second half as they jumped out front, notching two straight goals by Jaworksi and Gabrielle Bradley to put the Bonnies ahead 6-4. The Colonials then pushed their way back into the game with a goal to cut the deficit to one. Taylor Fallon answered immediately as she scored to put the Bonnies back ahead by two goals.

George Washington then went on the attack with five straight unanswered goals to put the Bonnies behind 10-7 with 10 minutes remaining.

The Brown and White tried to rally late in the game with goals from Jaworski and Fallon but the Colonials prevented a game-tying goal from the Bonnies in the final minute to seal the win for George Washington.

Jaworski paced the St. Bonaventure offense, scoring four goals. Taylor Fallon chipped in two goals of her own to help the Bonnies.

In net, Morgan Conroy made 10 saves and Kerrigan Cummins came in late to make 2 saves.
