STORYLINE
After seven games at Joyce Field, the St. Bonaventure University softball team will head to George Mason for a three-game Atlantic 10 series. The Patriots currently sit at 8-6 so far in A-10 action, which is good for fifth-best in the conference.

The last time the two programs met was a three-game set on April 11 and 12 of 2015 in which the Bonnies earned wins in the first two games of the series.

ABOUT THE BONNIES

  • Alissa Karjel highlighted the Bona offense in SBU's most recent series with Fordham as she cleared the bases with a three-run triple to right field. The sophomore now has 25 hits on the year with nine RBIs.
  • Hot starts: The Bonnies are 7-4 when they score in the first inning, and they've scored 22 total runs in first innings so far this year. Desiree Gonzalez worked a pair of leadoff hits for the Bonnies in the two games against Fordham. In game one, she ripped a double down the left field line to start things off for the Brown and White, and in game two, she worked an infield single. She scored three total runs in the doubleheader – two in the first game, and one in the second. Her 24 runs lead the Bonnies.
  • Of the top five Bona hitters in the order, all five have five or more multi-hit games so far this season – Karjel (seven), Hailey Blencowe (seven), Elizabeth Enovitch (six), Desiree Gonzalez (six) and Alexandra Piergustavo (five).
  • Elizabeth Enovitch has performed well in the first Atlantic 10 slate of her career. The freshman leads the Bonnies in A-10 games with a .273 batting average and five RBIs with nine hits.
  • All four of the Bonnies' pitchers have seen steady time in the circle as of late. Josie Borysevicz, Sam Wood, Rylee Hehir and Kristen Hickling all have at least four appearances and two starts in the 11 conference games. Borysevicz has tossed 26.1 innings in the circle in conference play and struck out 16 batters. Hehir has thrown 15.2 A-10 innings with 11 punch outs.
