Box Score 3 FAIRFAX, Va. -- The George Mason Patriots came away with a series sweep over the St. Bonaventure University softball team on Sunday.
The series was originally scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday, but unplayable field conditions due to rain halfway through game one on Saturday forced all three games to be decided on Sunday.
In game two, Desiree Gonzalez worked her second three-hit game of the season as she lined a pair of doubles with two RBIs.
Morgan Phillips put together a strong series at the plate, working a hit in each game including a double in game two and a pair of hits in game three.

The series' first game began on Saturday morning with a steady rain.
George Mason jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, the big hit coming on a bases-loaded single that brought home two.
The Bonnies scored their lone run of the game in the third inning. Kelly Farrell led off the frame with a walk and moved up on an infield single from Alexandra Deal. A fly out to right field off the bat of Desiree Gonzalez advanced Farrell to third, and she later came in to score on a wild pitch.
The game was then halted in the fourth inning due to unplayable field conditions due to weather and resumed Sunday morning.
The Patriots got action on Sunday off to a strong start as they plated one in the fifth and three in the sixth to bring the score to the eventual final of 7-1.
Josie Borysevicz tossed all six innings in the circle, striking out three while surrendering 10 Mason hits.
The Bona offense managed six total hits, two from Deal and one apiece from Farrell, Alexandra Piergustavo, Morgan Phillips and Elizabeth Enovitch.

Gonzalez led off game two with a double off the base of the wall but was left stranded.
George Mason went on to score the first runs of the game in the third inning as they strung together five hits for four runs.
The Bonnies then got their offense going in the fourth. With Brittany Fair and Olivia Golay aboard, Gonzalez stepped in and smacked her second double of the game off the wall to bring home the runners.
But George Mason would stop the Bona offense there and hang on to win, 4-2.
With Gonzalez's two doubles and Morgan Phillips' two-base hit in the sixth inning, the three Bona doubles are the most the team has had in a conference game so far this season, and the second-most in a single game all season.
Enovitch and Nicole Antonacci also worked base knocks to round out the six St. Bonaventure hits.
Kristen Hickling made the start in the circle for the Bonnies and went all six innings.
Game three: George Mason 8, St. Bonaventure 0 (Five Innings) | Box Score (PDF)
George Mason grabbed the lead early and never looked back as the Patriots scored two in the bottom of the first.
A run each in the third and fourth later followed by a fifth-inning rally for four runs sent George Mason to an 8-0 win to earn the series sweep.
Phillips earned the two lone Bona hits with a pair of singles.
Rylee Hehir started in the circle and tossed into the fifth innings before being relieved by Sam Wood.
Up next, the Bonnies will head to Canisius for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday.
