STORYLINE
The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team will host its second home game of the 2018 season against the Niagara Purple Eagles on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. seeking their first victory of the season.
SCHEDULE CHANGE
Thursday's game has been pushed back to a 5 p.m. start due to inclement weather.
LAST MEETING
At last season's matchup, the Bonnies fell to the Purple Eagles, 18-5 at Niagara University. Rachel Perla '17 led the team with 2 goals, one in the first and one in the second half. Senior goalkeeper Morgan Conroy started the game, making 10 saves.
SCOUTING NIAGARA
The Purple Eagles come to St. Bonaventure with a 1-0 record, defeating Binghamton University in their season opener, 8-7. Niagara is led by junior attacker Rachel MacCheyne who had four goals and one assist in their first matchup of the season. In 2017, she started all 19 games for Niagara and broke the single-season program record with 60 goals and 75 points. Senior Alexandra Higgins and sophomore Lauren Paul led the team defensively. Higgins was named 2017 MAAC Defender of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team at defense. Paul was a unanimous selection to the MAAC All-Rookie Team at defense in the 2017 season.
UP NEXT
The Bonnies begin a six-game road trip on Tuesday, Feb. 27 when they face Fresno State in Fresno, Ca. The opening draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
