STORYLINE
The St. Bonaventure University softball team travels to Moon Township, Pa. for a midweek non-conference doubleheader against Robert Morris. First pitch for game one is slated for 3:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies took on Atlantic 10 for Saint Louis in a pair of games in Dayton on Friday afternoon. The Billikens swept the doubleheader from St. Bonaventure. In game one, Alexandra Deal collected two hits while Brooke Kane-Walker added a pair of hits in the second game.
WHEN LAST WE MET
Bona and Robert Morris met last season at Joyce Field with the teams splitting a doubleheader. Sam Wood was credited with the win in the circle for her first career win at St. Bonaventure in game one. Bona captured game one, 5-3, but the Colonials responded with a 5-3 win of their own in the nightcap.
ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
The Colonials enter Wednesday's doubleheader with a record of 8-22 and 1-1 in the Northeast Conference. Robert Morris has lost eight of its last 10 games. Natalie Higgins leads the team in multiple offensive categories including batting average (.354), at-bats (96), hits (34), runs scored (17), doubles (9), triples (2) and RBIs (17).
PACING THE PACK
Junior Alexandra Deal has been a force at the plate and on the base paths this season. Deal has reached base in 20 out of 26 games this season. The Seneca Falls, N.Y. leads the Bonnies in stolen bases (9), triples (5), runs scored (19) and hits (27). Deal is second on the team with a .360 batting average.
UP NEXT
The Bonnies return home to Joyce Field for a weekend series against George Mason on Saturday and Sunday. The Bonnies and the Patriots will play a doubleheader on Saturday with game one starting at 12:00 p.m. On Sunday, the third game of the series begins at 12:00 p.m.
