ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Grace Perechinsky had four hits and McKenna Holtz had five in two games to lead the St. Bonaventure University softball team to a doubleheader sweep of the Rhode Island Rams Saturday afternoon at Joyce Field. The Bonnies took game one in walk-off fashion, 3-2, and scored runs in each of the first three innings of game two to win, 6-4.

GAME 1 – St. Bonaventure 3, Rhode Island 2 |
The Bonnies trailed 2-0 after a third inning home run from Paige Julich and a fourth inning RBI single off the bat of Rebecca Simms.

Elizabeth Enovitch put Bona on the board with a solo home run to right field, her first round-tripper of the season.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Enovitch earned a walk to lead off the inning and McKenna Holtz singled, putting runners on first and second. The Bonnies moved the runners to second and third on a ground out and Hailey Blencowe stepped in the box next, bringing home Enovitch with an RBI ground out.

With two outs, Grace Perechinsky stepped up and hit a rocket that went off the pitcher's glove, scoring Holtz to give the Bonnies the walk-off win.

Josie Borysevicz tossed a complete game, earning the 20th win of her career which moved her solely into fifth all-time on the St. Bonaventure wins list.

GAME 2 – St. Bonaventure 6, Rhode Island 4 |
Rhode Island jumped out to an early 3-0 lead that was sparked by a leadoff home run from Julich, her second of the day. Back-to-back singles off the bats of Simms and Erika Yeager put the Rams up three before the Bonnies would respond.

Alexandra Deal got the scoring started for the Brown and White with an RBI single, bringing Holtz around to score. Perechinsky later singled to score Blencowe that brought the game within one, 3-2.

Enovitch led the second inning off with a double and Holtz smacked her third home run of the season to give the Bonnies a 4-3 lead.

Bona added insurance runs in the third and fourth innings with RBI singles up the middle from Kailtin Caringi and Perechinsky, making the lead 6-3.

The Rams got one run back with a home run from Rachel Kuhlman.

Rylee Hehir earned her sixth win of the season, going the distance for the Bonnies.

The Bonnies are back in action Sunday for the third and final game of the three-game series against Rhode Island. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
