The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team will travel to fourth-seeded UMass for an Atlantic 10 Championship Quarterfinal matchup on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1:00 p.m.

FIFTH-SEED
The Bonnies earned their way to the fifth-seed in the Atlantic 10 Championships by knocking off Duquesne, 2-1, in their final regular season game and captured three important points.
Â
This is the Bonnies' first playoff berth since 2013, where they were fourth-seed and advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 Championships.

In St. Bonaventure women's soccer history, the women have reached the quarterfinals in 1999, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

FANTASTIC FIRST-YEAR
Graduate forward
Cristina Torres ended her great first regular season with the women's soccer program finishing first in the Atlantic 10 and eighth in the NCAA with 13 goals. On the season she also ranks first in the A-10 in shot accuracy (.638) and is tied for first in the A-10 in points (26).

The San Juan, Puerto Rico native is second in the A-10 in points per game (1.44) and goals per game (.72).

With her 13 goals Torres now has sole possession of seventh all-time in Bonaventure women's soccer history in single season goals, passing Patty Boyle (1990) and Heather McDougall (2005). She now currently sits behind Kristin Snyder (1989) and Lisa Deil (1990), who are sixth all-time in single season goals with 14.

Freshman goalkeeper
Chiara Gottinger is having a tremendous first-year in net for the Bonnies as she leads the Atlantic 10 and fifth amongst Division I goalies in saves with 111.

The Pirching am Traubenberg, Austria native also leads the A-10 and is fourth in the country in goalie minutes played (1721:03), and saves per game (6.17). Her season save percentage stands 24
th in NCAA rankings.

Gottinger is second in the conference in shutouts (6) which ties the St. Bonaventure shutout record, previously shared by Brooke Lang (1989-1990) and Nicole Markert (2010).

ABOUT UMASS
The Minutewomen ended the regular season with a 2-1 loss at La Salle in double overtime. Freshman forward Chandler Pedolzky leads the team with 16 points and eight assists on the year. Pedolzky is tied with sophomore forward Karina Groff with four goals. Freshman forward Ashley Lamond has five goals on the year to lead UMass. In net sophomore Megan Olszewski has played in 16 games and recorded 49 saves, while sophomore Bella Mendoza has played in 11 games and tallied 37 saves this season.

In their matchup on Thursday, Oct. 21 St. Bonaventure and UMass went to double overtime playing to a 0-0 draw.

UP NEXT
If the Bonnies are able to advance past the Minutewomen in the quarterfinals, then they will play the winner of first-seeded VCU and eighth-seeded Saint Joseph's in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 5 at 1:00 p.m. The highest remaining seed will host the semifinal games.
