The St. Bonaventure University baseball team travels to Indiana to take on Valparaiso in a three-game series. The series schedule has been shifted due to inclement weather forecast later in the weekend. The teams will now play a doubleheader Friday beginning at noon and close the series with the finale Saturday at 1 p.m. The games will stream live on ESPN3. A cable provider login will be needed to view the webstreams.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Bonnies fell in a four-game series at Lehigh last weekend.
• This past weekend starters were Liam Devine (6.2 IP/ four earned runs/seven strikeouts), Kyle Caringi (2.0 IP/ two strikeouts), Tripp Breen (5.1 IP/three earned runs/five strikeouts), and Bryce Hediger (4.0 IP/three strikeouts).
• Matthew Williams (six hits/three RBIs), Pierce Hendershot (three hits/two RBIs), Branden Myers (four hits), Jackson DeJohn (three hits) and Brendyn Stillman (three RBIs) led St. Bonaventure at the dish this past weekend.
• Gabe Watts (3.0 IP/one hit) and Luke Roggenburk (3.0 IP/one earned run/three strikeouts) were key arms out of the bullpen.

 
THE LONG BALL

• Pierce Hendershot hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot, in game one of the doubleheader at Lehigh last Saturday.
• Brendyn Stillman also hit a three-run home run in game one of the doubleheader, this marks his team leading second round tripper of the season.

 
ABOUT VALPO

• The Beacons have begun the 2022 campaign with a 7-9 overall record, splitting a four-game series at Murray State last weekend.
• Kaleb Hannahs (.383/four home runs/10 RBIs), Alex Thurston (.339/four doubles), and Kyle Schmack (.317/five doubles/12 RBIs) lead the team at the plate.
• The leaders on the mound are Trent Turzenski (28.2 IP/25 strikeouts), Colin Fields (2-0 record/23.2 IP/42 strikeouts) and Jake Miller (2-0 record/16.2 IP/23 strikeouts).
• Valparaiso is projected to finish eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference, according to the MVC 2022 Baseball Preseason Poll.
