ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure Baseball has opened up fall workouts by welcoming new faces to the roster this fall as the program prepares for the 2027 season. 

"I am thankful for the work put in this summer by our recruiting coordinator, Jackson Root," said Bonnies coach Jason Rathbun. "We are very excited about the talent and depth of this recruiting class. We are very thankful for our admissions staff, Donovan Moffat in academic support and Sarah Wolcott in compliance with all their help in getting these talented student-athletes on our campus." 

Austin Allen – LHP 6'1" 190 – Levittown, Pa. | Truman HS
Allen was selected as an All-Conference player as a pitcher during his varsity career. He recorded a 3.00 ERA on the hill and committed to the Bonnies during the early signing period last fall.

RATHBUN ON ALLEN: "He is a smooth lefty with the ability to contribute on the mound as a freshman. He's a talented arm who knows how to fill up the zone and throw multiple pitches from the left side." 

Sam Bent – LHP 6'5" 210 – Essex Junction, Vt. | Essex HS
Bent won 2026 MaxPreps Player of the Year honors in the state of Vermont. He pitched 35 innings and recorded a 6-0 record with a 0.40 ERA and 56 strikeouts. At the plate, he posted a .372 batting average with a home run and 25 RBIs. He earned All-State honors in both baseball and football.

RATHBUN ON BENT: "He was named the Player of the Year for the state of Vermont and was also a recruited quarterback for football. He went 6-0 on the mound, helping his team to a perfect 17-0 year and a state championship." 

Payton Bradley – C/OF 6'5" 210 – Salamanca, N.Y. | Salamanca HS
Bradley batted a .492 average to go along with a .603 on-base percentage and 1.297 OPS as a senior at nearby Salamanca High. He recorded 15 RBIs and 16 stolen bases in the same year. He was selected to the All-Conference First Team as a junior and senior. 

RATHBUN ON BRADLEY: "Bradley is a local product, three-sport athlete who can play multiple positions on the field. He's a big and physical athlete that we are excited to work with." 

Markus Brehm – INF/OF 5'11" 175 - Wayland, N.Y. | Finger Lakes CC
Brehm posted a .480 batting average that included 10 home runs and 42 RBIs with a .586 on-base percentage this past spring. He was threat on the base paths as well with 30 stolen bases. He was selected as the 2026 Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year at Finger Lakes CC, and was named an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American. 

RATHBUN ON BREHM: "Markus gives us an experienced player with the ability to play multiple positions on the field. He had a huge freshman year for Finger Lakes CC, helping his team to the regional finals while playing shortstop every day. He followed that up with a big summer. His versatility is something we really needed. Elite speed." 

Nick DiSanti – INF 5'11" 200 – Wilmington, N.C. | Concord University/Mount Olive
DiSanti was selected as an honorable mention to the All-Mountain East Conference team in 2025 and 2026. He was the only player to play all 53 games for Concord in 2026. He batted a .309 average with a home run, seven doubles and 26 RBIs in 2026. In 2025, he hit .347 in 34 starts with three homers and 24 RBIs.

RATHBUN ON DISANTI: "The grad transfer was an All-Conference performer the last two years with plus bat to ball skills. He played 105 games as starting shortstop last two years." 

Bennett DiCarlo – RHP 6'7" 225 – Manassas, Va. | Thomas Jefferson HS
DiCarlo pitched 13 innings in 2025 with a perfect 0.00 ERA along with 13 strikeouts and held opponents to a .114 average. DiCarlo was selected as an All-District Honorable Mention in 2025 and also committed to the Bonnies during the early signing period.

RATHBUN ON DICARLO: "Bennett is a physically gifted pitcher who we are excited to work with. He is a talented arm with a high ceiling." 

Jax Graham – RHP 6'2" 210 – Pictou County, Nova Scotia | Arkansas State University Mid-South
Graham pitched 53.2 innings at Arkansas State University Mid-South where he logged a 4.86 ERA and struck out 45 batters, starting all 11 games he pitched in. 

RATHBUN ON GRAHAM: "Jax was the ace last year for ASU Mid-South in Arkansas last year. Jax knows how to pitch and has shown the ability to pound the strike zone." 

JJ Hand – C 6'1" 205 – Bristow, Va. | Old Dominion
Hand earned three years of All-State honors in Virginia to go along with regional Player of the Year accolades at Brentsville District High School. He had a career .390 batting average in high school before committing to Old Dominion. 

RATHBUN ON HAND: "JJ has the chance to be the current and future fixture behind the plate for our program. Both of his parents were D-I athletes and JJ has the ability to be a standout for our program." 

Kevin Hill – RHP 6'4" 200 – Oxford, Miss. | Mississippi Delta CC
Hill throws a knuckleball and pitched 91 innings at Mississippi Delta CC where he struck out 90 batters and held a 3.46 ERA.  

RATHBUN ON HILL: "Kevin is a big, physically experienced arm we are excited to add to our staff. The Mississippi Delta grad logged two solid seasons as a starter." 

Cole Lombardo – INF 5'10" 175 – Garnet Valley, Pa. | Garnet Valley HS
Lombardo earned first team conference and all-county honors his junior and senior year while also being the league Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. He recorded a .386 career average and a .464 on-base percentage and was another early signee for the Bonnies.

RATHBUN ON LOMBARDO: "We are very excited to add a quality shortstop like Cole. He has stood out defensively while also adding a clutch hit tool that he has showcased for a few years. He's a good athlete with speed and a strong arm with the ability to be a starter in the middle infield throughout his college career." 

Kyle Mandirola – LHP 6'3" 185 - Exton, Pa. | Monroe U
Mandirola pitched 60.1 innings for Monroe University and struck out 71 batters while earning eight wins as a freshman in 2025, earning his staff's Pitcher of the Year honors. He missed the 2026 season due to injury.

RATHBUN ON MANDIROLA: "Kyle dominated his freshman year on the mound for D-I JUCO Monroe College. An arm injury did not scare us away from this talented lefty. The ability to be here for three years with already having college experience was very intriguing for us." 

Nicky Moretto – INF/OF 6'6" 190 – Ottawa, Canada | Allen CC
Moretto earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore at Allen Community College. He hit 10 home runs and 12 doubles in two seasons career at Allen including a career-high .360 batting average his sophomore year.  

RATHBUN ON MORETTO: "Nicky is a large, athletic left-handed hitter who played third base and hit third for Allen County junior college in Kansas. We think he has the ability to play multiple positions on the field and be a contributor to the lineup." 

Sam Miller – OF 6'2" 200 – Fairpoint, N.Y. | Binghamton
Miller brings top end speed to Bonaventure, scoring 13 times as a pinch-running specialist in 2026. He also only committed two errors in 73 chances in his time in the outfield, bringing a 97 percent career fielding success rate. In high school, he was a two-time All-Greater Rochester selection and named Third Team All-American at Fairport, helping that program to the 2024 state title.

RATHBUN ON MILLER: "Elite athlete who can be a lockdown defender in CF with the ability to be a major threat on the base paths. He will also get some work on the mound this year. The best professional tools in our program." 

Sean Munzert – C/3B 6'2" 220 - Williamsville, N.Y. | Williamsville South HS
Munzert hit .400 in high school which earned him selection to the all-league first team three different times. He was selected All-Western New York First Team as well, signing with the Bonnies last fall.

RATHBUN ON MUNZERT: "Sean is someone we have followed for a few years. Sean features a strong arm and power bat who physically can help contribute right away."

Logan Norman – OF 6'1" 190 – Centereach, N.Y. | Hudson Valley CC
Norman holds the record for the most all-time hits (122), runs (119) and doubles (32) at Hudson Valley CC to go along with being a NJCAA Division III All-American, First Team All-Conference and a two-time pick for the All-Glove Team. This spring, he hit .500 with 71 hits in 142 at-bats, scoring 70 runs with 17 doubles, four triples and four homers with 46 RBIs and a .761 slugging percentage. He stole 36 bases in 2026 and was caught just once. 

RATHBUN ON NORMAN: "Logan has dominated the last two years at Hudson Valley CC and named All-American this year. He played for head coach Josh Parrow who was a former student-athlete for me. Rival coaches raved about Norman's play on the field. He has a leadership type of personality that we are looking very forward to having a part of our program." 

Jordan Raba – INF 6'4" 190 – Hamilton, N.J. | Mercer CC
Raba earned NJCAA Division II All-American honorable mention his sophomore year after hitting .497, good for the fourth-best batting average in NJCAA D-II baseball. He collected 94 hits, sixth-most in the country, with 50 RBIs and 76 runs scored. He also ranked among the national junior college leaders in stolen bases (32) and triples (7). He was a two-time First Team All-Region 19 selection.

RATHBUN ON RABA: "Very talented left-handed hitter who can contribute in different ways offensively with speed and power. He has been a very good shortstop, but I believe he has the ability to play multiple positions. Raba should be an impact guy in the lineup this year." 

Cullen Riel – RHP 6'2" 200 – Atlanta, Ga. | University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/Mineral Area
Riel made 23 relief appearances for University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee last year. During last spring's work, he recorded a 2-0 record and struck out 20 in 21.2 innings. He made an appearance in the Auburn Regional against UCF as well for the Panthers during their NCAA Tournament run. He was at his best during conference play, posting a 2.16 ERA during Horizon League action. 

RATHBUN ON RIEL: "Cullen is a proven arm who logged 23 appearances last year, including pitching in the Auburn Regional. He will compete for rotation spot, or he will be a key part of our bullpen." 

Mihretu Rupertus – RHP 6'4" 210 – Philadelphia, Pa. | St. Joseph's Prep
Rupertus pitched 29 innings at St. Joseph's Prep and struck out 33 batters while posting a 2.39 ERA and a .193 opponent batting average. Rupertus was selected to all-conference second team as a sophomore and committed to the Bonnies during the early signing period. 

RATHBUN ON RUPERTUS: "We are very excited about Mihretu on the mound. He has easy velo and showed the ability to throw strikes. I would not be surprised to hear his named called one day in the draft and be a mid-to-upper 90's guy. A very talented arm from Philly." 

Anthony Runfola – C/OF 6'0"  205 – Phoenix, Arz. | Duke/Haverford College 
Runfola earned Centennial Conference First Team honors in 2025 while at Haverford College where he hit nine home runs with 45 RBIs and a .318 batting average. He was selected as team captain as a senior in 2025 and named 2025 D3Baseball.com Second Team All Region 5. He transferred to Duke last season and appeared in five games for the Blue Devils. 

RATHBUN ON RUNFOLA: "We think Anthony has the chance to add some power to the middle of our lineup. Adding an experienced college player who is a graduate of Power 4 school is exciting for us." 

Chihiro Sato – RHP 5'10" 175 – Tokyo, Japan | Edmonds College
Sato logged 10 wins in his career at Edmonds College where he posted the second-most innings in program history. Across 122.2 innings, Sato pitched five complete games, earned three shutouts and accumulated a 3.23 ERA. 

RATHBUN ON SATO: "Chi is a two-year starter for Edmonds College. He has the ability to throw seven pitches and he's been a strike-thrower the past two seasons." 

Michael Sardou – INF 6'0" 200 – Rochester, N.Y. | Monroe CC
Sardou registered a .426 batting average with 63 hits including four homers and 55 RBIs this past spring for a Monroe squad that won the NJCAA Division II East District championship and advanced to the national World Series. He also smacked 14 doubles and 11 triples while having a .750 slugging percentage.  

RATHBUN ON SARDOU: "Michael was an important part of the lineup for head coach Dave Brust at Monroe CC and their run to the NJCAA Division II World Series. Very pleased to add a talented infielder who can swing the bat like Michael." 

Sean Spitaleri – RHP/C 6'0" 210 – Glen Rock, N.J. | Glen Rock HS
Spitaleri earned first team honors to all-league, all-county and all-state as a senior at Glen Rock High. He posted a .560 average with 20 extra base hits and 29 RBIs. On the mound, he pitched 58.1 innings, recorded nine wins with just one loss with a 1.80 ERA and struck out 92 batters. 

RATHBUN ON SPITALERI: "A dual player that will help on the mound right away. His ability to catch as a left-handed hitter will be a great fit for our roster." 

Evan Stranko – RHP 6'3" 215 – Erie, Pa. | California University of PA 
Stranko won Cal U's Bruce Canton Pitching Award, an award that recognizes a player who exemplifies greatness of character and success on the field, as a freshman after posting a 1.69 ERA across 19 appearances last season. He logged 24 strikeouts and allowed only two extra base hits across 32 innings pitched with the Vulcans. 

RATHBUN ON STRANKO: "Evan is a big, physical arm who was a lockdown reliever as a freshman last year. He could compete for a rotation spot or be a reliable reliever for our staff."
