Bonnies Travel To Virginia For Two Afternoon Games

The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team will compete in Virginia for two games against nationally ranked Richmond on Thursday and VCU on Saturday. Game time for both games is scheduled for noon. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Bonnies dropped a pair of games against La Salle and Davidson.
  • Friday's 12-11 heartbreaking loss against the Explorers saw Kassi Hogan, Maddie Mazur, Rebecca Howe, and Sarah Owens each scored two goals for the Bonnies to give them a chance for potential victory in the closing minutes of the game.
  • Despite an 18-5 loss at Davidson on Sunday, St. Bonaventure was able to give the Wildcats a scare with four straight goals to open the second half.
  • Madison Mundenar, Fiona McGovern, Rebecca Howe, and Maddie Mazur were able to tally goals during this Bonaventure run.
  • Abby Hiltz tallied assists in both contests this past weekend to increase her team-lead in assists to 14 and point total to 26.

  • Junior Ashley Herrick has made a total of 127 saves.
  • Currently, the third-year keeper is eighth in the conference in saves percentage (.425) and second in saves per game (11.55).
 
ABOUT RICHMOND
  • The Spiders, who are currently ranked 20th in the country, hold an overall record of 11-3 and 5-1 in conference play.
  • They fell, 15-9, at No. 17 UMass this past Sunday.
  • Some of Richmond's notable wins include Stanford, Liberty, and Old Dominion.
  • Lindsey Frank (33 goals/15 groundballs), Arden Tierney (26 goals/27 assists/77 draw controls), Colleen Quinn (28 goals/19 assists), and Sophia DiCenso (26 goals) are the leaders on the field.
  • In net Delaney Galvin has made 124 saves this year.
  • Frank and DiCenso were selected to the 2022 A-10 Women's Lacrosse Preseason All-Conference Team, along with defenders Jax Donahue and Brittney Wright.
  • Richmond was chosen to finish third with 82 points in the 2022 A-10 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
 
ABOUT VCU
  • The Rams are 6-8 on the season with a conference record of 2-4.
  • In their last game they fell at Saint Joseph's, 14-7.
  • VCU will host Davidson this Thursday.
  • On the field Julianna George (25 goals/eight assists), Kelsey McDonnell (27 goals), and Sarah Jones (71 draw controls) lead the team.
  • Goalkeeper Meghan Dawar has record 168 saves this season.
  • VCU was tabbed to finish sixth in the conference, according to 2022 A-10 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Bonnies return home on Saturday, April 23 for their final conference game of the season beginning at noon vs. Duquesne. The Senior Day ceremony will take place prior to the start of the game.
