BUFFALO – Two school records were set Saturday afternoon as the St. Bonaventure men's track team put together a strong day at the UB Team Invitational.

Freshman Thomas Dachik overtook the previous Bona's record in the 3000-meter steeplechase, a mark which he had been chipping away at all spring. Dachik ran his best time in the event, finishing in 10:04.46 to surpass the previous school record mark of 10:06 held by Paul Astorino who ran that mark in 1986. It has previously been one of the oldest standing records in the Bona's running history book.

Zane Courtwright also set a school-record mark in the 800, crossing the finish line in 1:58.46. That time bests an effort of 1:59.61 set by teammate Zach Buckner earlier this season. Saturday, Courtwright finished eighth out of 28 competitors.

Also in the 800, Kieran Ryan posted the fourth-fastest individual school time in the event (2:00.68) and Wyatt Hulsey now stands fifth at 2:00.91. Courtwright, Ryan and Hulsey all qualified for the upcoming Atlantic 10 championships for the 800.

In the 1500, two more Bonnies top-five times were logged as Darion Gregory came across the finish line in 4:08.79 for the fourth-best individual mark in Bona's history. Right behind was Clay Peets who now stands fifth at 4:08.84. Both athletes qualified for the A-10 championships as well. Buckner also cracked the Bona's top 10 for the event at 4:17.18.
