The St. Bonaventure University baseball team will travel to North Carolina to take on Gardner-Webb in a four-game series, playing two doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., while Saturday's action is slated for noon. The schedule was altered due to rain in the forecast later in the weekend.

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
  • The Bonnies earned their first victory of the season, 17-8, in the first game of a twinbill last Saturday at New Mexico.
  • Saturday's contest was one of the best all-around offensive performances in recent memory for the Bonnies as they registered 20 hits in the contest.
  • The offense delivered 15 or more hits in a single game for the first time since the 2020 season against Mount St. Mary's (16 hits).
  • This was the best production at the plate for the Bonnies in a single game since an April 3, 2019 win at Penn State when the Brown and White struck for 18 runs on 21 hits.
  • First-year head coach Jason Rathbun picked up his first Division I victory last Saturday after posting 556 wins in the past 17 seasons at Herkimer Community College.

MANION MASHES
  • Graduate first baseman Danny Manion led the charge for the Bonnies in Saturday's offensive outburst.
  • Manion posted a career day of five hits, two homers, and seven RBIs at the plate.
  • This was the second multi-home run game of his career with the previous two-homer effort coming on May 21, 2021 against Fordham.
  • His performance marked the most hits in a single game by a Bonnie since 2019 when Kevin Higgins registered five hits in an 18-6 triumph over Penn State.
  • Also, Manion's New Mexico outing stands as the most RBIs in a game by a St. Bonaventure batter since 2017 when Bona alum and current pro product Bubba Hollins drove in eight runs during a 17-4 win at Davidson, while David Vaccaro recorded a seven RBI game against George Mason during the 2016 season.
  • Hollins' effort is to this day one of the best run producing games by a Bonnies player in a single game over the past three decades.
  • On Sunday, Manion added an RBI single to finish the series 6-for-8 with two home runs and eight runs batted in.

ABOUT GARDNER-WEBB
