Bonnies To Honor Eight Seniors Against La Salle Saturday

The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team will take on La Salle Saturday, April 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Prior to Saturday's contest, the Bonnies will honor nine graduating student-athletes as part of Senior Day: Sarah Owens, Nora Anderson, Teri Manzelli, Jordan Rokitka, Caroline Yoder, Hailey Grau, Ashley Herrick, and Courtney Fox.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Bonnies struggled to stop the offensive attack of Saint Francis, falling 17-11 in a road matchup Wednesday afternoon.
  • The Bonnies were led offensively by Abby Hiltz's three goals, while Fiona McGovern chipped in two goals and three assists.
  • In the cage Ashley Herrick and Hayley McIntyre combined for six saves.
 
HOGAN EARNS A-10 ACCOLADE
  • Junior Kassi Hogan was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of The Week.
  • Hogan was great on both sides of the field this past Saturday against George Mason, collecting three groundballs and causing five turnovers.
  • She also added two goals as the Bonnies were able to secure their first home conference victory since the 2017 season.
  • The Guelph, Ontario native has played a large part in the Bonnies winning efforts so far this season as she currently has 10 goals to go along with 17 groundballs, while also causing 15 turnovers so far this season.
 
SENIOR DAY
  • Eight Bonnies players will be honored in a ceremony prior to Saturday's contest.
  • Sarah Owens is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program. She has been selected to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. As a freshman, she played in five games during the pandemic shorten season, scoring three goals. During her sophomore season, she appeared in 10 games, tallying three goals, one assist, and three groundballs. Last season, she finished the year with 13 goals. This season, Sarah has four goals and five groundballs, appearing in all 14 games for the Bonnies this season. Sara is working towards her degree in business management.
  • Nora Anderson is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team and has played in 49 games. During her freshman season, she saw action in seven games, scoring nine goals and adding seven assists. In her sophomore campaign, she saw action in all 12 games, starting 8 of them. During that season she tallied nine goals and 10 groundballs. Last season, Nora started all 15 games for the Bonnies, tallying 23 points on the year, as well adding 40 draw controls. She earned a selection to the 2022 A-10 All-Academic Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom. This season, she has scored 12 goals with nine groundballs and 10 draw controls. Nora is working towards her degree in childhood education.
  • Teri Manzelli is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program and has appeared in 46 games, starting 33 of them. In her freshman season, she competed in seven games, scoring six goals and adding eight draw controls. As a sophomore, she started six games for the Bonnies, scoring a goal and adding five caused turnovers. Last season, Teri started all 15 games, collecting 25 groundballs and 18 caused turnovers. As a senior this year, she has started 10 games, helping anchor the defense with 10 groundballs and nine caused turnovers. Teri is working towards her degree in marketing.
  • Jordan Rokitka is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program, playing in 23 career games. As a sophomore, she saw action in three games, tallying an assist against UMass. Last season, she played in eight games for the Bonnies, adding an assist against Akron while scooping up two groundballs. This season, Jordan has played in 12 games, scoring her first career goal against Akron. Jordan is working towards a degree in accounting
  • Caroline Yoder: Caroline is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program, appearing in 36 games, starting 12 of them. As a freshman, she saw action in seven contests, scoring six goals with nine groundballs. During her sophomore season, she played in 10 games, securing three draw controls and four groundballs, while finding the back of the net once. Last season, Caroline played in nine games, recording a goal and an assist. As a team captain this season, she has started nine games, helping anchor the defense with three caused turnovers and 11 groundballs. Caroline is working towards a degree in chemistry.
  • Hailey Grau is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program. She has played in 34 games, starting 18 of them. As a sophomore, she appeared in seven games, tallying two caused turnovers and collecting three groundballs. Last season, she started 13 games on defense, causing four turnovers. This season Hailey has played in 12 games and scooped up three groundballs. Hailey is working towards a degree in accounting.
  • Ashley Herrick is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program, starting 42 careers games in net. As a freshman, she saw action in five contests, making 52 saves with a 51% save percentage. During her sophomore campaign, she started nine games, collecting 52 saves. Last season, Ashley started 13 games in net, recording 141 saves in 739 minutes of action. This season, she has started all 15 games and made 129 saves. Ashley is working towards a degree in international studies.
  • Courtney Fox is a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program. She has played in 43 career games, starting 20 of them. Courtney started six games during her freshman season, netting seven goals with two assists. During her sophomore season, she started 11 games, notching 14 points, while securing 12 draw controls and eight groundballs. Last season, Courtney saw action in 14 games, scoring four goals and dishing out three assists to go along with 18 draw controls. This season, she had played in 10 games, finding the back of the net six times. Courtney is working towards a degree biochemistry.
 
ABOUT LA SALLE
  • La Salle currently has a record of 0-13, including 0-7 in conference play, most recently falling to Duquesne 21-12.
  • This season Alana Lathan (17 goals), Maddie Henderson (14 goals) and Claudia Steinmetz (13 goals) lead the team in scores, while Ellen Stickney has tallied a team-high seven assists.
  • In net, Julia Dellaratta has recorded 107 saves on the season, starting all 13 games for the Explorers.
