Box Score RICHMOND, Va. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball team dropped the series finale at Richmond, 19-4, Sunday afternoon.

Jack Putney got the Bonnies on the board with one swing of the bat in the top of the third.
Â
Following an
Artin Biageyian double,
Jackson DeJohn and
Mark Darakjy reached based via a hit by pitch and walk. Putney stepped up to the plate and drove the ball over the wall in center field for a grand slam.

However, Richmond responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to cut its deficit to 4-3.

The Spiders (21-24, 10-7 A-10) knotted the score at four apiece when Johnny Hipsman led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run.
Â
Richmond broke the game open with eight runs on seven hits in the fifth inning to take a 12-4 advantage.
Â
Hipsman hit another solo homer to add a run for the Spiders in the sixth inning.

The Spiders scored six more runs in the eighth inning to secure their 10
th conference victory of the season.

The Bonnies (8-34, 5-13 A-10) offense was shut down by Richmond's reliever Kyle Subers, who pitched five innings out the bullpen and only allowed two hits with four strikeouts.

At the plate, the Spiders were led Johnny Hipsman's two home runs and four runs batted in.
Â
For the Bonnies, Biagyian tallied two two hits, while Putney drove in four runs.
Ryan O'Connell threw two innings out the bullpen, allowing one run on one hit with a strikeout.

The Bonnies remain on the road with a three-game series at Dayton beginning on Thursday, May 11. First pitch Thursday is set for 3:00 p.m.
